Hell, I thought I'd rather have the polished metal mirrors.. They won't break.
For some reason, in the commercials, the car seems wider, lower, and longer... Like almost a Corvette/Camaro stance. In pictures that I see now, it looks like a "normal" car.

...oh, and the second key is only $1 for the key, but $5,000 to program it to work with the other one (wink, wink).

With my $13,000 (many discounts applied) Cobalt XFE I was very pleased at everything that was standard. EXCEPT FOR the $75 SPARE DONUT TIRE!! Otherwise I got a kick ass stereo and every option I wanted except for spate tire and floor mats for the sticker price. Its the first car I did not feel the need to replace the stereo!! This one is made by Bose I think, and it ROCKS. No extra option.
If The Volt copies that format there will not be many options. However they very well could go back to their old ways and everything will be a option, as you have pointed out very well!

No argument there. But they only got serious about the project when the company really started to bleed money fast and government bailout looked inevitable. No self respecting manager would keep a project guaranteed to loose money funded when the company is already in the red, pre bailout. Now GM is just going through the motions to keep the Congress happy. They'll build a couple of thousand, price them in the $40-50k range, nobody will buy it, they'll say "see, I told you so" and kill it off as quickly as the EV1. Never underestimate GM's ability to fail at everything.

As a plus, I did get to laugh at a US Marshal, and an Army Official, because they didn't have proper ID, and it's a company requirement that anyone who can't show proper ID and a visitor's acknowledgement be escorted off the property, or reported to security.
They refused ID, I showed them to the door and flipped the alarms.
When my boss found out, He tried to get me fired. I pointed out the "rules" to his boss.

Truly Christ like... HehHeh.
Sorry, not on topic... uhh... Volt rhymes with bolt which rhymes with moult. to moult is to lose a feather which rhymes with heather which is a bush so therefore it's all Bush's fault. Which brings us to dolt. Any questions?
What the hell was in those brownies...

Not likely to be produced....
Leased maybe... to controlled environs... to people they know are going to praise it...
You can only manage a victorious loss if you secure some strategic asset. PS3 managed the feat by delivering the cheapest blu-ray player to the market, a gaming system and free online connectivity compared to its counterpart(xbox) which if you add blu-ray or free online connectivity xbox now costs more.
Sony secured their future by selling at a loss and forging a steadfast beachhead in the blu-ray player market, while maintaining their stance as 1/3 marketshare(US) for gaming consoles(and not incurring 2+ billion dollars in lost finances to system failures(Microsoft's inevitable red ring of death)).
What does the Volt accomplish? What secondary beachead does it seal off under Chevy's banner? um.....
um.....
yeah ok so nothing there.
Does it help maintain Chevy's marketshare against its price range competition?
....no.
The actuaries and market research types will all be fired if they give this project the go ahead for mass production.

Pay no attention to the man behind the screen. Keep your eyes on the volt. Keep thinking about GM. Keep thinking GM is an advanced eco friendly, hip edgy car company with all the spirit and spark of the volt. While you are here, have a doughnut and look at all the other fantastic GM vehicles, which also embody the aforementioned Voltitude. (that's mine, I just patented it) Please buy one. Did we mention the volt?
The Volt is a marketing campaign, a big neon sign.

Not to forget: Toyota and Ford BOTH have told the media they should have plug-in Hybrids as early as 2011 to 2012. Head on with the Volt. That's what happens when you run around for 5 years saying "See what we can build? just lookie here and bring your cams with you for YouTube"!! Shesh, not even an effort made to even try to hide anything about the Volt, some of those boys just "aint right".
