Oh yes. Nice thick ones are rated for 50 lbs+ but can handle over 100. Five or six (or ten?) and that motor is going nowhere (except British Columbia).

When I've moved motors on pallets like that, I've usually used a ratcheting tie-down strap, like what you use to strap down items in a pickup truck.
If you want something inexpensive/disposable, YES zip-ties work fine, as long as you use the giant industrial ones. There are some VERY large zip-ties out there. In some places, police use them as leg restraints, and then slam the tail of the zip-tie in the back door so the "perp" can't kick the back of the squad-car seats!

I'd say it looks good. That perp will stay put for sure.
Can you do a final weight or will that be a pain in the rump for you?
I did a quote for 140 lbs. 150 lbs is the max before it gets REALLY expensive. The motor was 110? I can't see a pump and pallet weighing more than 30-40 lbs, but I 've been wrong before. A lot, actually.

Glad to see you found a good motor and things are progressing for you. Since you are getting the pump as well, are you planning to use the pump shaft as part of the new adapter?
I think you should go ahead and build a vacuum tank. It will only be a few dollars and will likely make your pump last longer.

Precisely. My machinist buddy will take part of the shaft and mate it to my clutch center splines. It will be interesting to see how my current adapter is doing after 1200 miles.
