Doomed again!

I confirmed my appointments for today and spent an hour comparing the last three rejected progress reports side-by-side, word-for-word, with the previous ones, and couldn't figure out what my supervisor changed.

Did she reject everything for fun?

I resubmitted them and then went to see my two in-person clients. I also picked up a new toilet wax seal because apparently ours failed. I spent the rest of the day trying to apply to graduate school.

Except I couldn't.

NAU requires two applications, although both copy much of the information from your previous one.

There are separate application fees, too.

The second application requires my MUMU transcripts. I tried to delete the school, but it won't let me. I tried to request transcripts, but it said that I had academic holds.

I paid $400 for the terrible class that I dropped when the first assignment was due.

I honestly wonder if I needed to set aside a full week to complete the first homework assignment. It was ridiculous!

Unfortunately, it still says that I have an academic hold. I tried to complete the second application, but I didn't know that it didn't allow you to use last year's letters of recommendation, and I didn't have the time to get new ones.

So, I spent $400, and several hours, and only have frustration for my troubles.

What was the signs of the apparent failure? I was recently told a wax ring failed, yet the source of the water was the tank. A wax ring failure would present below the floor surface of the toilet.

Also, I would suspect movement if the wax ring failed, because wax doesn't just fail. The underlying issue needs to be addressed rather than a simple ring replacement.

RedPoint fixed my toilet!

I'm not a complete failure!

Mom ordered me to replace the ring, although I managed to convince her to let me just buy the ring now, and install it after I applied to grad school.

Good thing, too!

There were dirty puddles on the floor.

I didn't notice it moving, but it sure did when I kicked it! I popped a cap and the bolt wasn't even finger-tight. I happened to have an 11mm socket handy that I found in my room. It fit pretty well. I tightened one side 5 full rotations and the other 8.

I don't know the torque specs for plastic and porcelain, but I stopped as soon as I felt any resistance.

If you use MS Word, you need to introduce your supervisor to the magic of "Track Changes"

New house for sale in the neighborhood

This is about a block down the street from the last one that sold. The same size and floorplan, but worse yards and they are asking $10,000 more: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/5...8411221_zpid/?

For some reason Zillow says this is worth $20,000 less than the house that sold four months ago, so we will see how that works out.

I realized that when I was looking at houses in the spring I was working another job, so I might not qualify for anything right now.

Time to move. The weather down here is better anyways.

I fear that we have over a foot of snow. I am supposed to start seeing clients in an hour and it is supposed to snow all day.

This is highly irregular!

I'd argue that point. As soon as it's over 80F / 27C, and the dew point is above ~60F, you can count me out.

Last weekend I spent around 6 hours tinkering on my car and cleaning up my garage, in a long sleeve shirt and some jeans - it was a pleasant ~28F outside. I finished replumbing my new radiator last night, and had to put on an extra layer, because it was around -14F with wind chill.

I'd say my comfortable range is between maybe 45F and 75F, but I'll tolerate up to ~85F if the humidity isn't bad, or down to ~10F.

I was born and raised in Florida, and I'd take BC's weather over it any day of the week.
