You're most welcome.

I'm currently on business travel sitting in a Hotel in Hartford CT... I have an email (that I can't access remotely) from my friend Burly Burlile, that gives the details on the new ruling on sheet metal screws, talked about at a recent USFRA or SCTA rules meeting. Replacing the screws with poprivets is a cakewalk. If that is out of reach, maybe they would accept 3m weather strip adhesive (commonly called Gorilla snot) smeared over each screw head, or a 2" x 2" piece of black Gorilla tape over each screwhead.

Also, the tech guys are older dudes... they aren't going to jack up your car to look for a few sheet metal screws underneath. They will look for the low hanging fruit...

Hartford's only about 2 hours from here. How long you staying?

I've used fairly large sheet metal screws, so new holes would have to be drilled. I like the idea of snot on the heads. Could still remove if needed, albeit with a little work, but they won't go anywhere either.

Meetings in the morning, then back on a plane in the afternoon, home to Cali Thursday night late.

They do sell 3/16" diameter poprivets, perfect replacements for #10 self tapping sheetmetal screws. They sell the same 3/16 rivets with extra large 'flanged' heads, handy for fastening plastic air dams to the front of 'saturday night' dirt stock cars, rubber to metal, etc. Also, they sell special backing washers made specifically for 1/8 and 3/16 poprivets, to accommodate oversized holes. In California, Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) carries them, some of the better Ace Hardware that you have out here. Or Mail order: McMaster-Carr. Or any local places that sell stock car parts.

I'll bring some Seam-Seal with me and apply it on Friday night after we get there. If I do run the chin, I'll Seam-Seal it on and if they don't allow it, I'll remove it and run with the stock nose configuration. Going out to start putting the belly pan on. Some late nights in my near future.

Thanks to COcyclist for the Thursday night hospitality. This is going to be a FUN trip!

Oh yeah,... 9 days and a wake up.

The rear is much better. Sealed and shaped. Resin and paint left for the body.

Already got the paint today. SEM brand, flat F.M.F Gray. And Ford Massey Furgeson is NOT the way I read it( think sandwich).

Anyway, tonight was a bit rough. The belly pan was really getting to me. I had to walk away for a while. It did get put on, a few additions needed, but runnable as is.

Thanks for the good words guys. I really needed it tonight.
