I'm hoping to get as much video as I can get. I'm looking into getting a new camera with some nice zoom capabilities.

I'm still trying to get video of running in the rain.

No pics today. Lots of little things; clutch cable, throttle cable, wiring, fuel plumbing, hood latch cable, connected starter signal and tested(no magic smoke and it did crank), coolant plumbing, vacuum plumbing, and made a list of small things still needed.

Almost forgot. I have access to a clamp on fuel pulse sensor that I will test with the MPGuino once running. A bit pricey from Mac tools, ~$200 just for the clamp. Might have to spend the long dollar if it works.

Looking good!

I'm planning to come with my daughter, who will be 10. She wants to be an engineer, she says. We are home schooling her, so this will be part of a geography, astronomy, auto engineering curriculum we'll set up for her. I'll plan to drive there by Thursday eve, pitch tent, and be there for at least Friday and Saturday, maybe driving back to Southern California Sunday for work on Monday.

Who else is making the trip, do you know?

Picked up a bunch of VW parts on the way home, should be putting them in slowly over the week. Hopefully make smoke this weekend.

Redyaris is about the closest to 100% confirmed as can get. Drmiller100 has said he'd come early on.

Any body else ready to mostly confirm?

Also, I'm thinking of making an "ECOMODDER" flag so we are easy locate in the area. Any Salty Dogs know if this an issue at the event? Any thoughts on design? Darin?

Would be willing to put you up over night. We are about 80 miles south of I-80. Turn south at the Mississippi river.

Varn- That would be awesome. I mark the distance at just about 400 miles from TangoCharlie's place. Perfect. That would also lead me toward Junction City, KS (where I was stationed) which is about another 400 past you.

Thank you very much!

More little things today. Fabricated fuel filter bracket, finished plumbing the fuel system, modified some coolant hoses, left one coolant manifold at home, pulled fuel through the filter up to the pump, no leaks, did some wiring for sensors.

Heat and humidity have taken their toll on me and I had to stop working after only 3 hours. Resting until tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be cooler.

The heat's been bad here, too. It really cuts into what you can get done. It feels like I'm helplessly watching the summer disappear because of it.
Hopefully it will rain soon so that my grass will revive before you come, otherwise you'll be pitching a tent in a prickly straw patch!
