I care. It's up to us to try to come up with a better plan. Use our current fossil fuel wealth to forge a sustainable future for humans and wildlife to survive for the duration of the habitable zone.

The Charlemagne event was in a different class.
That's a solar particle event.
Where solar ions penetrate the atmosphere and become part of the biosphere.

Solar events able to burn energy transformators would only harm actual humans adicted to electric power and the needs of it (industry and even modern agriculture).
The planet got many of these solar explosions and nature hold fine.
Someone should sue Mythbuster for produce so much CO2, with explosions and stupid things, like when they burned 1000 lbs of termity.

For certain values of 'events'.
The Sun rules your life. The Earth is protected by a Magnetosphere. It has Polar jets and an Equitorial jet [sheet]. Those fluctuate. There is most protection at mid-latitudes.
The Sun determines the timing of earthquakes, and telluric currents determine the location.
Solar activity affects you health and cognition. Right now.
It provides a vitamin to people with the genetic disposition.

The sun drives the climate.

Huge coronal mass ejection don't create changes that last long. But if the sun can have periods with significant higher or lower activity, it can make a difference to Earth's clime, maybe bringing ice ages, but science have no proof yet.
Anyway ecology it's far from be only CO2/global warming, since it afect air quality in cities, water quality on river, plastic on sea, everyrthing... Even the bees are being reduced, and without the bees we would be f...
There is already so many people on planet that if everyone would decide to live in nature, like in a small rural area, it would be far from possible.
Human race will reach Mars, but still thinks like a stupid monkey. It's a disgrace...
I hope we don't get warp speed, cause I don't want this "snake getting wings" to destroy the universe.

There's enough room on the oceans for everyone. Not to mention underground.

You would still need technology that don't exist yet, to farm on sea and home building under sea. Same for underground.
Anyway I refered about live on nature without help of much technology.

The current economic model is completely incompatible with 7.5 Billion people trying to grow all of their own food with no fossil fuel or artificial fertilzer. Both of which will experience catastrophic reductions in availability in the next 40 years.

Synthetic ammonium nitrate comes from natural gas.
The only thing that the natural gas is needed for is a source of hydrogen.
