melting

Never mind that the antartic has been gain ice for years.

All the believers are acting like no end of the world is the end of the world.
It's melting from above and below. As ice shelves break off,the land-bound ice sheets are no longer buttressed, and accelerate towards the ocean. When this ice calves off and hits the water it contributes to sea level rise.
The Arctic ocean isn't an issue for sea level, but Greenland and Antarctica are. There's over 220-feet of sea level tied up between the two ice masses.
The Arctic IS important with respect to Methane, which is 100X more potent a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.
Loss of albedo,solar-thermal expansion of the water, and new ice entering the oceans are of great concern.
One other important consideration for Antarctica,is that much of the continent supporting the ice is below sea level, and the warm water is eroding the grounding line, inland, underneath the ice. There is a concern that at some point, the ice will just float up and off the continent.
And the weight lifted off the continent will cause the land to rebound upwards, further exacerbating the sea level.

All I know is we can't keep riding this fossil fuel horse for ever, while constantly increasing the weight it pulls.

Oil will get prohibitively expensive for powering everything, in the 1970s we learned the hard way oil was too expensive for power generation.
Natural gas will get too expensive for power generation and transportation.
Then coal last.

Do religion make people nicer???
I don't think so...
I think this is the hoax efficenter...

Most religious people don't follow what they preach.
I live in a catholic country (mostly, despite evangelic be rizing), and catholic it's suposed to be more conservative in moral values about marriage, relation, intimancy etc.. For example the Pope still says that sex it's just for reproduction and nothing more.
But in practical terms it's the oposite. Someone reserved and introspective, like me, suffer with people who think man are obain to always prove virility otherwise can be labbeled as gay or something like that and be defamated and slandered.
For other side, a cretin who do a lot of things the Pope reprove, or things that even ethics reproves, like to lie, to be unfair, to cheat (with money or personal relations), be a cre-tin with others, these people have not much problems as long thei keep the game of prove virility and think like most people.
Brazil have the largest catholic population in the world, but have the largest total number of homicide in the world.

It's a insane culture with insane values, complete contraditory and full of hypocrisy. And if youy says you are a atheist people will think bad of you, even if you are honest and righteost person, while a scun--bag who talks about God/Jesus is well saw.

The purpose of religion would be scare or keep under controll people that only respects what they fear. But I don't think it trully works even so. Police it's what works, with punishment, and moral values education since early age. Get ride of all police forces and army and see if God/Jesus controll those people...

Coal is bad and solar is good?

Where are most solar panels made?
Chinese companies account for around 60 percent of total annual solar cell manufacturing capacity globally.
How clean is China's electricity?
China generates 69% of its electricity from coal.
