I can think of one, the number of major land falling hurricanes on US coasts has been on the down trend since at least the 1960s and really as far back as the 1930s depending on how you look at it.

I am sure there are cons to go with the other pros.

I was talking about the global warming scientists being politically motivated to ignore certain things that don't agree with the narrative.

According to the UN the only way to fix global warming is to give them unlimited money, or a $1.70 a gallon gasoline tax, implement a 10 to 15% vat tax, implement a carbon tax system and give all that money to them with 0 accountability.
Which happens to be their solution for all the world's ills, you know give them money and don't ask where it goes.

Just turning off all fossil fuel power and going to renewables isn't good enough for them.

Awesome, I didn't know Adams had a podcast/channel. I've only listened to a couple minutes, but I'll listen to the whole thing later. I'm an Adam's fan due to his rational approach and humility.

While we're on the subject of religion, I'll mention the same can be said of Christianity and other theological/philosophical traditions. I must be consuming too much JBP lately (currently on his 1st rule for life). Last night I browsed most of his Quora answers to get a sense of what sort of questions he finds worthy and competent to address.

I'll just say that religion*, sports and pets will drag us down if we can't let go.

*It was cats being Witches familiars that got them expunged from
Europe, which allowed the Black Death to spread, for one example.

If you can define what is not concerned with religion/philosophy, I'd happily talk about that too.

As I'm always saying, the why is at least as important as the how.

Your comment reminded me of JBP's observation that if you make the appropriate sacrifice, you greatly increase your chance of prosperity into the future. Sacrifice effort, treasure, thought, attention, etc now > profit.

The discussion on anthropomorphic global warming vs natural warming is boring, because it doesn't matter what/who to blame because the magnitude of the threat/benefit remains the same. The interesting discussion is how do we maximize benefit, minimize threat, and make the appropriate sacrifices to accomplish those goals.
