Counter March

Somewhere I have a book (can't find it with DDG) about how the Earth once had ice water rings like Saturn, but they collapsed and raised the water from the original continental shelves. I could dig it out but something else wouldn't get done. IIRC it was wrtten, or at least illustrated, by Jack Hamm the how-to-draw guy.

Some people are good with observations and jumping to conclusions that help for fill a desire with no actual science involving reproducible experiments and controls.
It's not the first time, won't be the last.

The AGW dooms day cultists are all fired up I have noticed, must be worried about their religion. (And you should be )
The scientists are still working. And the message hasn't changed. Temperatures are still up.

The only politics in this is what we do about it. And, admittedly, a lot of the measures proposed are pie-in-the-sky thinking. But the science is still sound.

When the science is only based on observations then at best you can start to form a hypothesis.
It can be a sound hypothesis and competing hypothesis should be welcomed.

July 2019 Was Not the Warmest on Record: Roy Spencer, PhD
Quote:
We are now seeing news reports (e.g. CNN, BBC, Reuters) that July 2019 was the hottest month on record for global average surface air temperatures.

One would think that the very best data would be used to make this assessment....

But current official pronouncements of global temperature records come from a fairly limited and error-prone array of thermometers which were never intended to measure global temperature trends. The global surface thermometer network has three major problems when it comes to getting global-average temperatures:

At best it's observation based science, at the very least with a strong bias if not outright fraud is being used to support a predetermined conclusion.
You see this any time a religion is put in charge of science.

A hoax to exert more control and fleece everyone. “International Agencies” to be created, no doubt.

The Big Lie is one folks can’t believe would be fostered upon them. Just keep repeating until they do. (Heinrich Himmler commenting on Jewish tactics).

Whomever is the OP needs to request the thread title be changed. “Consensus” isn’t science. Consensus is politics or religious accord. Who, whom. Not truth.

This line of [not]reasoning isn't productive.

If you watch this I will watch it again. I may have dozed off the first time.

edit:
I reconsidered.

There is a presumptive equivalence between the end of science and the beginning of discussion.

Suppose one accepts the science (all of it! Space Weather included) and denies the economic prescription of the Green New Deal. Eh?
