We have already had 3 freezes, and we will have a 3rd thaw this weekend, with temperatures 60F+.

Our building code requires footings to be a minimum of 4' below grade. With a thaw every week or two, only the top few inches will freeze.

We used to sell ice around the world and harvest ice several times a winter, and play ice hockey and ice fish - none of that is going to happen, now.

With almost all the major fires burning down under being set by people doesn't that eliminate climate change as a suspect?

The MA climate from the good old days sounds awful.
So what's the bad news?

So yeah the idea that "solar wind doesn't effect ground level" is so dead it's sad. Scientists knew this in the 60s, but some how it was forgotten, probably after they went to woodstock. It's unfortunate that scientists do not fully understand the polar night jet,however,they do believe that global warming produces more energetic Rossby-Waves which propagate upwards above the troposphere,affecting the jets stability,and the Jet Stream's stability as a byproduct.

Climate scientists have worked under the wrong assumption that the sun's output doesn't change and solar wind or cosmic particles can not effect weather or climate.
