It contains one of the most delicious ironies of contemporary cult political-economic culture. Unimaginable cognitive dissonance unchained!
Even Seth Macfarlane would not be capable of improving upon the 'logic' of it all ( laugh out loud until you pass out! ).

Alls I know about Ayn Rand is she had the hots for a serial killer in the 1920s, who had done things that are outside the terms of sevice here.

Did you watch the video?

He spins a tail (possibly true) about Tesla pitching his dath ray/shield to the British (unsuccessfly, they just stole it, and the Russians [maybe?]) So it was in the air, so to speak.

Sad that the technology won't work in insects.

Speaking of Irony:

The Magic Word for today is Tetrataenite:

Tetrataenite - Wikipedia
Tetrataenite is a native metal alloy composed of chemically-ordered L10-type FeNi, recognized as a mineral in 1980. The mineral is named after its tetragonal crystal structure and its relation to the iron-nickel alloy, taenite. It is one of the mineral phases found in meteoric iron.

video

I'm always trying to fill holes in my database. Which doesn't always repay my efforts.
If I find myself with some slack time I might get a look.
Presently, the Thwaites Glacier is as close as I can think of as an actual 'death ray.'

Closer to home than a continental protection system was Tesla's lightning umbella:

lps-pacifica.com/lightning-protection-method-prevent-lightning-nikola-tesla-attract-lightning-franklin/

Ben Franklin's solution attracts lightning, while Tesla's erects a protective bubble. I think there is a passive circuit between the ellipsoid and ground.

'video'

Simon's good on camera, and quite the showman, but he ate 15-minutes to provide very little science fact.
From the books I've read on Tesla, and broadcasts, we know that Tesla completely 'failed' at his most ambitious projects.
I have no confidence that he ever succeeded in a death ray, or that anyone paid him anything associated with such a technology.
I do believe that 'radar' was important, and the Roswell incident, for example, had all to do with radar, and nothing to do with extraterrestrials.
The UK gave the USA all their radar cavity-magnetron and other radar-related technology at the end of WW-II.
When we began to put in 'on' aircraft ( literally ), this is when little green men entered the arena.
I know a guy, Roger ( he comes into the store here ) who flew the electronic Jamming and other countermeasures stuff in the Air Force. He's described enough about the flight instability of airborne systems that I've convinced myself that we need to look at the likes of Westinghouse, and fiberglass manufacturers to explain the cover stories about desert 'UFO secrets', and probably whatever happened in that English forest in the next video.
The people who actually 'know' things are required to take it all to the grave. It's the price we pay for freedom.

He's prepared to make the same assertion about Rendlesham Forest -- in four or five parts because he's trying to make a living. I don't mind, Chromium doesn't show any ads anyway.

Rendlesham Forest incident - Wikipedia
The Rendlesham Forest incident was a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights near Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, England in late December 1980 which became linked with claims of UFO landings. The events occurred just outside RAF Woodbridge, which was used at the time by the United States Air Force (USAF).

The problem with Tesla was that only he understood what he did, but after being screwed by Edison and Westinghouse was no longer interested is sharing the working data.

Best allegory I have was a Savant that would replay on piano anything he ever heard, down to the rhythm and mistakes, but was otherwise mute.

Tesla and Westinghouse had a great working relationship. They had each other’s back and were good friends to till death.

'death-ray'

Something which has stuck with me:
The day I enlisted, I arrived early in North Hollywood, and killed some time at an all-night diner. The diner had an Amana 'RADAR RANGE', the first microwave oven I'd ever seen.
Years later, after coming back from overseas, I was dispatched to refuel a ground power unit at a remote radar site, north of the highway leading to Boron, California ( where Pancho Barnes lived out her life after the fire destroyed her 'Happy-Bottom Riding Club', as it was known.
At the radar facility I brought up the microwave oven to the technician working with me. He mentioned that the out-going beam strength their equipment was capable of 'frying' unlucky birds inflight, as their flight path intersected the radiation.
This is the only first-order reality experience I've ever had with respect to a so-called 'death -ray.'

My parents had a Radar Range. I did not know this:
Quote:
https://www.retromobe.com › 2017 › 06 › raytheon-radarange-worlds-first.html
Raytheon Radarange - the world's first microwave oven (1947)
Sold under the "Amana" name (a Raytheon subsidiary) the countertop Radarange was a similar size to ones today and sold for the equivalent of $4000. Late 1960s domestic Amana Radarange Over the next decades the microwave oven became more efficient, added more features and most importantly it became much cheaper.
It cost them as much as a car? I bought one 2nd hand a few decades ago for prolly $50.
