Here's one for MetroMPG, a rust free 1992 Metro with 227k KMs. Complete with 5 speed and sexy pop top sunroof! Sadly it's a 4 cylinder but hey when was the last time you saw one this old?

All of the Suzuki Swift sedans that I have seen had 4-cyl engines.

The pre-facelift front clip was more appealing to me. This one doesn't look so great.

There are still many in Argentina and a handful of them in Uruguay.

I did find this, note the *DI lettering.
That is a TDI without a T, an NA TDI. These didn't sell a lot outside Southern Europe (at least on the Eastern side of the Atlantic, maybe Rooster has more from the West). Emissions limits killed them here - Diesels with Turbos were allowed more generous pass values.

The VW SDI was still available in Argentina until a few years ago.

All Swifts have 4 cylinders, in Canada anyway. You could only get the 3 cylinder here in the clones i.e. Metro, Firefly, Sprint. I have actually seen 3 cylinder, 4 door sedan, automatic Sprints. Now that would be a bad car to take through the mountains haha.

The clones were not officially available in Brazil, and due to the tax break on 1.0L-engined cars the Swift had the 3-cyl. However, since 1.0L engines were not so usual in subcompact sedans at that time, the sedan only had the 4-cyl 1.6L while the hot-hatch Swift GTI had a higher-revving 1.3L 4-cyl.

^^ Hey, that's my car!
Except for the year, I had a '85, but same color n specs.
No headrests on the rear bench though, and no pull type bench adjust/release.
Would I love to drive one of those again, never mind the dodgy choke and vapour lock on hot days...

I have it's twin in an '87 with half the miles, but like you said it is not reliable. I can't even find parts to rebuild the carb, the only option appears to be a Weber conversion that will cost as much as the car did!

I had an '86. Head gasket went and I cracked the head. Haven't seen one of this vintage in years. (In the rust belt).

Those 1.3s were supposed to get great mileage. I got the 1.5 CRX (1984). The CRX1.3 was about 13.5 seconds to 60 mph. I wanted the 10 sec time. You could carb that car for great mileage but the miles and rust are killers by themselves.
Put a single Mikuni SU like the early z car.
Can't beat the price.
