Ok I just finished reading the whole thread. It took me two and half days to read it from strat to end, it's like reading a novel don't want to miss anything. Now that the T.G. is over it's time to se some pic's and the progress done. Keep it flowing one of a kind, i bet it will be best in show.

Sorry for your loss , but your online support group is here for you .

SVOBoy -
Sometimes it's better to take a step back and continue when your mind clears. ChrisT is right, your ball joints are f'ed, going to have to replace them.

I am kinda sad that you haven't completed the IRX, but this saga will continue in a month, I anxiously await a climactic finish! Preferably a successful one!

I have a somewhat different outlook about death than most people do... So I'm not distressed about it at all. Thank you though.

SVOboy - I'm looking around, I might have a pair of ball joints I can send you, but it's not likely.

If you can get a spec on the correct belt http://www.beltsforanything.com will have it.
They are local to me and I'd be happy to pick it up and donate it to the cause.

Thanks for the support folks. I'll get some specs on the belt, though I'm trying to figure out if the pulleys are different from the A/C to non-A/C models to cause the current mix up.

Topher - The ball joint will be fine if I can just get the damn thing off. It's not mangled yet. I'll try the torch when I get home.

Smacking the knuckle (don't miss! ) w/ a sledge hammer a few times is usually enough to get 'em to pop out. I've always had bad luck w/ boots using a pickle fork

Ben -
Hopefully, you can make due with what you've already got... I didn't manage to find any good ball joints for you. I do know that if you happen to need them new, they're inside the $20 threshold.

you don't have to stress over Honda ball joints or use a sledge hammer. pick up one of these on you way back.
KD Tools Universal Tie Rod End Remover

I have used mine to remove many stubborn and mangled Honda ball joints and rod ends.
A must have tool.

Thanks for the help and the link to the tool. I will have a bit more time once I return home, so I've got this plan:

I'll just stick the knuckle with the LCA on the car, then use the ball joint trick I usually use to pop it, then go ahead and swap out the LCA. Hopefully this will work and result in a decent joint and the ability to replace my boot.
