My neighbor just bought a Model 3 Tesla recently and it's a nicely made motor vehicle.
The inside is pretty nice and modern as well. Much different than most cars. I haven't gotten to go for a drive yet, but he says it's amazing the power it has.

Maybe. When you are hemorrhaging $$, stopping the outflow anyway possible really fast might be cheaper in the long run.
When I worked for McStarlight, we shipped 9 ft square airbus engine intake fairings in the Lufthansa 747 cargo plane, wasn't as stupid expensive as you would think. Double the cost of ground to italy, but there in 2 days. Cheaper if you can schedule the size a couple days earlier.
Flight back was always a consolidated run, little bit of everything from fedex to us mail, whatever they could scrounge
I wish they would fix their issues, makes looking for a new job highly annoying, 20 headhunters a day calling asking me if I want to work there long hours for peanuts.

The braking is pretty poor but I read in one of the articles that Tesla recommends 45psi in the tires! That is going to increase braking distance all by itself.
(Please don't flame me re hyperinflating tires; I've done it myself. Doesn't mean it doesn't increase braking distances.)

Tesla has said the braking issue is software-related, and they'll be issuing an over the air firmware update soon. (I've seen mention of both ABS calibration and electric vacuum pump control.)
In a surprising display of humility, apparently Musk even called Consumer Reports to talk about their review and thank them (!) for bringing the issue to light:
Quote:
Musk also pledged to continuously improve the Model 3’s brakes, saying that “Tesla won’t stop until Model 3 has better braking than any remotely comparable car.”
“He was remarkably candid about things. Honestly, he actually thanked us for bringing these things to attention, and said that we’re helping him make the car better,” Fisher said.

Brakes fixed already?
Quote:
Musk announced that the braking issue had been solved.
In a Twiter response from Friday he said that a “firmware fix for upgraded brake performance on standard Model 3 started rolling out yesterday. Should improve braking distance by ~20 ft for repeated heavy braking events. Thanks @ConsumerReports for excellent critical feedback!”

Nice try but it seems the real issue is a brake pad/ rotor heat range issue and mechanical fade.

According to Consumer Reports, the problem re-occurred even after letting the brakes cool.

On the first stop or the second? Didn't they say that the first stop was always good and then it went downhill from there?
