I find it incredulously that tesla owners dont use brakes so much that they rust.
Every one I've ever seen is so focused on showing me their performance, over my ranger, they have to slam on the brakes at the next stoplight.
My question: can I use the batteries if you wreck it?

So software can make the difference between your tesla stopping like an F150 pulling a trailer or a sports car.
That's scarry.
I haven't seen any good news from tesla in a while.

That must be your Google bubble. Google knows you hate Tesla.

All the news I see about tesla is on here or BBC.
The problem is people can't tell the difference between good news and bad.
For example if tesla put out a news release saying "we put out a fire" the blind optimists will see that as good news.
The critical people will be saying why did a fire even start in the first place? Things like mismanagement, very poor housekeeping, shoddy wiring, what is being done to keep it from happening again come to mind. If no suitable answer is given then the question becomes when is it going to happen again.

That's the thing about Tesla.
I'm happy they exist and that they are really throwing the bird to established car companies. Disruption is a great thing for an industry where the barriers to entrance are so high.
But they will implode unless they sort out their own house. The AutoPilot marketing needs to stop, because people won't educate themselves on what it actually can and can't do. Wiring is a problem. Overall quality is a problem, I have heard that most feel hastily put-together with below-price-appropriate materials and inconsistent panel gaps. Parts for repair are almost unobtanium because they can't spare much from actual production. Elon is a genius, but I don't think he counted on how hard it can be to build actual things in mass quantities.
Tesla fanboys are undermining themselves and an old, set-in-its-ways industry by glossing these things over, and that makes me kinda hate them.

I thought the teardown of a Model 3 which revealed how much Tesla had brought down the production cost, showing they can and do make them on a healthy profit, was good news?
That their batteries only use 10% of the amount of cobalt compared to other battery manufacturers, while performing significantly better, wasn't really bad either?
By the way - I have a motto: Only trolls use the word 'fanboy'.

My brother got his Model 3 two days ago, 21 days after ordering. I'm looking forward to driving it next time I head out his way.
