You overhear two guys bragging to each other about the 55 and 60 mpg they get with their motorcycles, and you think to yourself, "Suckers!"

I had to bite my lip yesterday when somebody, beaming with pride, proclaimed that he got 38 MPG in his Honda Fit.

That's HALF what my wife averages in her Prius, and I've gotten as high as 248mpg in that car.

Same here, except mine's "rated" at about 17 mpg highway!

... You actually pass someone on the highway.

And then for 10 minutes you keep wondering why the guy doesn't have an Ecomodder.com sticker

When you occasionally have to brake hard, your consoling thought is: at least it's a chance to scrub the oxidization off these rotors that don't get used enough.

...If when you are swapping the engine in your boattailed-ultrampg hypermiler car, you complain to your friends at work because of getting ONLY 32mpg out of your Pathfinder (15mpg rated, 4x4, v-6).

...when a fellow forum member asks;
"have you been working on your vibe? the fuel log looks a bit low, only 38 MPG?"
which is 37% above EPA. And it's due to your wife driving the car!

YKYAEI...You're out in your driveway rotating your tires when the neighbor (a mechanic) comes over to have a look. He sees your brake pads and says, "only about a third left...you're gonna hafta replace those pretty soon." And you think to yourself, "You have NO idea how long that last third will last me."
