...if you see a significantly damaged bumper cover for a 2007 Civic laying on the side of the road for two days and then decide to pick it up and put it in your 1998 Civic because you know the cover is larger than yours and know it could supply options for changing the nose of your vehicle even though it has no prayer of "bolting on" ... and hell, you imagine, some of the honda factory hardware that is still attached might come in handy one day... so you take it home and start dismantling and measuring... what the hell, it's free...

I've been eyeing broken wrx bumpers and grills on the classifieds in hopes of picking one up for cheap then molding an upper/lower grill block to make it look like a one piece bumper from the factory.

When you back into the garage and kill the engine, then turn the ignition back on to roll up the windows, so you don't loose .1 MPG idling.

I would love to use this scrap for something similar, a lower grill block that also lowers the stagnation point, moving more air over the hood and around the sides. Nothing beats free!

...I do that with my wife's Subaru everytime I drive. She always says "don't forget the windows" because for her the only reason she would ever have shut the engine off without closing the windows would be if she had forgotten.

...when you come to a red light, at night, nobody around....you turn off your headlights to reduce alternator drain.

... You're able to talk your way out of a traffic ticket for driving to slow by explaining the theory behind driving w/ load and then pointing out your aero mods (wheel skirts), then the chp decides that you are freaking serious, then let's you on your way with just a "warning"

... if you get passed by carloads of "blue haired grannies" giving you dirty looks on the highway!

... if you won't take the dogs for a ride because "they add too much drag hanging out the windows"
