You know you're a hypermiler when you see an engine with the alternator easily accessible and think "that'd be a perfect fit for an electric-assist setup!"

MPG up along with my dethawed piggies on my feets
Not super comparable but yesterday it was -20 and today it was 10 so much better lolol
This whole dry snow thing is so strange to the southerner in me. This is actually the first time I've driven in actual snow not just ice lol

A friend of mine left a job early because of an approaching blizzard. The snow blocked his pickup grille so well that he barely made it home, overheating.

YKYAEM when someone steals your car, and you wonder what kind of mileage they are getting in your car.

YKYAEM when it frustrates you that you can only beat your fiance's best of 33 mpg in her car by 3 mpg, even though she's been driving it for much longer.

YKYAEM, when you get frustrated that even the "micro" size cars available in the used car market have massive frontal areas.
( Adding length to decrease cD is easy - chopping your car's roof is not ! )
My civic hatchback stood 50 " tall - which is around 7 " lower than the smallest car available

^ Even little cars these days strive for "command seating". The Mirage is very tall for its size. Same with the Micra.

YKYAEM when :
It makes you sad when the closest furniture/appliance store relocates to the other side of town...
...because there goes your handy source of big cardboard boxes!

Ha!
YKYAEM when you deliberately skip the closest DIY shop for one further out because it wouldn't be much of a walking exercise otherwise.
To be fair, I did not get get big cardboard boxes.
I got me a CH radiator ventilator strip. It worked (the difference between temperature on the floor and higher up went down) but it resonated on the radiator and I had to return it. Another exercise
I did add radiator foil to the back of the radiator, that had about the same effect. The wall next to the radiator remains cold now - less heat lost to the outside.
I walk more distance than I drive nowadays.
