Several French newspapers relayed the forecast from a leader of a French petroleum company that the gasoline will be at 2€/L = 11$/g in next year (currently 1.5€/L including 60% of taxes).
You know you are an ecomodder when such a sentence doesn't panic you
Denis.

Panic? What if you are delighted to hear it?

I don't want to pay 33% more only to give more money to the government and petroleum companies.
I would be OK to pay 33% of CO2 tax (0.5€/L would be near 200€/tonne of CO2) as this one would be redistributed to poorer people and renewable energy to replace petroleum and nuclear plants.
Denis.

One of the problems with oil is that almost everything in today's way of life depends on it. So even if the price hike doesn't hit me directly because of my miniscule fuel usage, I will have to pay more for other goods because their production and transport require oil. Oil is in almost everything - from fertilizers to plastics.
YKYAEM if... You're afraid that the oil price hike will make coroplast and LRR tires more expensive.
But the investment is still worth it

You know you're an EcoModder if...
... you startle the neighbour when the air hose from your bicycle pump explodes - like a shot going off - while topping up your car tires.
(And I hadn't even reached sidewall max yet!)

You consider adding sta-bil or some other fuel stabilizer to your gas tank because you don't know how old it is.

Indeed, I've met most of my girlfriend's neighbors while pumping up our tires with a bicycle pump in front of her house

... You step out of your car at the VA hospital valet parking area and you have people come up to you who say they saw your aeromodded Metro on the freeway and think it's pretty cool, which leads to a 10 minute chat about ecomodding with a group of people

....You have to drive the Boss's Yukon SUV out of Chicago during rush hour with an extra 1000 lbs of cargo and still RAISE his tank average by over 1 mpg.
True story. Didn't pay any tolls either!
