Practicing what you preach is difficult, and I've maintained that one can have a correct opinion of something while being a hypocrite.

Hypocrisy can be a lack of willpower rather than a lack of conviction, though they tend to be related.

We shall see how much energy it really makes if they publish the data. 26* is much too shallow for winter solar PV production where they are.

The believers have convinced me that man driven climate change is a load of renewable animal waste fuel.
Too bad the vast majority don't practice what they preach.

I drive a leaf, put up solar panel, planting trees for food and fuel, burn wood for home heating because I'm cheap, a conservationist and I want to own where most of my energy comes from.

I have an apple tree that used to give us more apples than we could eat. Cherries, pears, plums. My city garden isn't very large, but varied.

But beasts and extreme weather have wasted them. The pear tree died years ago. The cherry tree grows but no longer bears cherries. There weren't any plums either this year (used to be several pounds). The apples went bad before they were edible. Many other plants just died, the leaves repeatedly eaten by all kinds of caterpillars.
Drought, heat, foreign migrating pests with no natural enemies...
I may be a believer. I believe my garden is dieing because I see it dieing.
How come, but for climate change?

Fine if you can grow your own food, but how long do you think will that last?
There's a pest waiting to get your stuff.

Al Gore uses a lot of electricity, but hey - he's an American.

In 2017, the average annual electricity consumption for a U.S. residential utility customer was 10,399 kilowatthours (kWh), an average of 867 kWh per month. Louisiana had the highest annual electricity consumption at 14,242 kWh per residential customer, and Hawaii had the lowest at 6,074 kWh per residential customer.
That is about 3 times as much as my family of 4 uses in our relatively big house.
I thought we weren't really economical, despite the LED lighting, minimal use of the drier, A++ fridge and switching off at the mains/unplugging instead of standby mode etc. After all we do use A/C during heatwaves, which is becoming more and more frequent.
But in comparison I guess it's not too bad.

I wonder why the worst people have such power over idiots, or even pseudo-idiot people.

Here on Brazil a "spiritual" healer (charlatan that says spoke with ghosts ans have supernatural healing powers) called Joćo de Deus ("John' of God") abused a lot of women. Now with web movimens like or similar Me Too getting power, people are accusing hin, finally. There are over 400 people accusing hin now.
Some was just so stupidy that in the begining believed somehow or partially that his di...k would heal them. Of course the di...k was some sort of surprise in the therapy, in the beginning.

Stupid genes?
He probably have criminal genes (sociopath)

Does Gore at least have solar panels on the roof of any of his homes to give the appearance of environmentalism?

Energy per capta???

Well, how much it's also from industries (energy consumed by a country divided by the number of population ? WHat is the energy per capta for just home consumers and schools worplace (lighting and heating and cooling of rooms) and energy for meals and services like cleaning, clothes washing?

Is that graphic including industries energy connsumed too ?

Home and workplace rooms alone it's one thing. Industry it's another, very different.

So how would you go about to change it?

I'm repeating myself, but I say - tax him! Use tax as an instrument to make renewables worthwhile. Not prohibitive, not blind choosing the green lobby favorites, but honest and informed taxing or subsidizing based on how polluting any form of energy really is.

Then everyone is free to choose whatever energy source they like - even if it is not green, they'd be working on the advancement of green energy through paying for its subsidies.

I agree with you. But the problem it's to make it worldwide, since if we tax too much the country get less competitive with other countries that don't give a damn to ecology or to the planet's future.
