It sounds like your battery is in better shape (balanced) than the one I had though - so you're doing this for a bit more efficiency, or to be nice to the battery?
The parts are finally in a case, but it's not 100% yet. I ordered a volt meter to get a display on the outside of the case and still have to add the relays and diode.

I love the switch, it's so easy to use. The position is perfect to use it for EOC, as I reach my hand to the shifter I hit the switch then pop it in neutral and kill the engine. Then I simply keep my hand on the shifter, stretch out my finger as I put it into 5th and hit the switch to have regen/assist back on. I've also used it several times to turn off regen while climbing hills.

Once I get the grid charger working I will use it to make sure I'm getting into work and back home with a nearly empty battery but no forced regen. I'm at work for 10hrs and can plug in so I should be pretty full when I leave.

So far though I've only gotten one 100+MPG trip to work (more downhill) and one 98. I'm mostly highway and keep it at 58mph avg. On the way home it's late so I can go a little slower but I have to climb the Niagara escarpment right at the end of the drive.

This will be my third and best tank in a day or 2 at 800miles plus with 84.1 showing for the tank.

You are right, I wrote 1a slow blow but it is the 3.15a. The 1a slo-blo is on the 110v.

Right now I am at one fuel bar left, 661.3 uncorrected miles, and an Insight estimated 65.8 mpg. When I filled up the tank the last owner worked on, he had 40~ mpg estimated until I drove and brought it into the 60s, and if I remember correctly, it had <2 gallons left at four bars.

I am anxious to take it to zero bars, as the Mustang is on Empty, and 50 gallons past, and she has a gallon left. But the Insight is making me anxious. Any tips? lol

Edit:

I forgot to ask, what fuse did you pull to disable the power steering? I looked at the fuse schematics online a bit, and it wasn't clear. The only ESP thing I saw seemed to control many things, and may be too much.

I pulled the 40a fuse #15 under the hood. This deactivate the electric power-steering but you have the EPS light in the cluster tho... I removed it because I didn't liked my cluster looking like a christmas three .

Does it help at all? MPG, or handling? I know i can feel the load just from driving with the parking lights on.

It help the most with electrical load reduction, to preserve the 12v battery so it is less charged by the dc-dc converter. The handling is better and it is really not difficult to turn especially with overinflated tires.

Last week I cycled my battery pack with my grid charger and a discharger. It appears it has done miracle! When I first charged my battery, the SOC took 3 days to go from 19/20 to 3/20. After the charge & discharge cycles the pack took 7 days to go from 19/20 to 4/20 bars. Next plan is to put a ON/OFF switch with two different ON terminal. This will be my IMA inhibit switch/Max regen switch.

Will start on friday, I'll try to take some pictures.
