Yes. Most of these arguments are stereotypes, but reputations are earned. I just wonder, is it genetic or learned?

They also don't care to understand physics or mechanics. They do not care what makes their car go enough to peek under the hood. Most women probably don't know how to perform basic maintenance or even check the oil of the cars they drive...Ask a man and a woman to draw you a picture of a bicycle. I guarantee you that the man's drawing will be mechanically correct while the woman's cannot possibly work.

So true. It amazes me how contempt they are to let "black mystery boxes" stay mysteries. I know women that paid dealers to have their headlight bulb replaced. Explaining that it was literally as difficult as "changing a lightbulb" did nothing.
No girl I know has the faintest clue of how an A/C, refrigerator, clutch, engine, TV, computer, or anything remotely technical works.

As for pooping kids out with abandon, I believe that doing so should be painful in the long term. Pooping out offspring should not ensure financial security for women, neither from men, nor from the state. If women can choose what to do with their bodies, men should have the same rights over their wallets. My wallet, my choice!

I think federally required neutering after the third kid would do nicely, for the girl and the guy. Is a third kid really worth having your balls chopped off? It would give a new urgency to birth control.

Speaking in generalities of course, women are nesters. Therefore comfort and convenience are important, and they feel their homes are a reflection of themselves.
Vive la difference!

My wife loads trucks, fixes computers and furniture and manages a warehouse. She understands from a very practical standpoint what energy efficiency means - her own energy first, the energy her company has to pay for second.
On the other topic - and how is this related to ecomodding? - I've been saying for 20 years this planet is overpopulated. My own two kids notwithstanding, I'd recommend that in the future every couple be granted half a birthright. Two people come together to yield one child: that's it, they're done having kids. Congratulations, drop trou and this won't hurt a bit.
I'd like to see the US attain and hold a population of 200 million. Yes, I'm aware that's 100 million fewer than there are now.
God willing, that would empty the slums in fairly short order, just a generation or two.

I mentioned this thread to my wife and mentioned the example by one poster saying the female wanted the AC on and the windows down to smell the air..
my wife admitted she has done this.... I was so disappointed.. guess ill have to go back to the drawing board again.. thought i had he slightly trained..
This explains the sub 20mpg on her van... now I don't feel guilty one bit, for giving here a car to drive with no AC and one that burns biofules..
I wonder if she has been running around all winter with the AC on and turned to hot.. the female mind never seizes to amaze me.

My wife doesn't do that, but she will have the A/C and the heat on at the same time on a day when she could just turn the fan on and and have the temp exactly where she wants it. She'll get really cold and turn the knob to hot, and leave the A/C running.

It's TOTALLY related- is there anything else with more impact on resource utilization and management?
on the dream of that pop level! Now if we could only get those goofy broads to sign on...

My ex was the WOST at this, shortly after I started going on this site and becoming ecologic/nomaly minded, the relationship ended. I think it had SOMETHING to do with our difference on: driving, eating, shopping, using electricity and sleeping (no joke, all of that) after I started. She was the typical American "keep up with the Jone's type of person. She came from a family swimming in their own debt with two parents working full time + over time just to keep from going bankrupt because of it and it seemed like she was destined to repeat the same mistakes her parents had made (not going to college, getting a half ass job, getting into debt, etc). I was trying to steer her in the other direction, showing her that she didn't need to buy 4 Billion pairs of flip flops and that she didn't need to drive her poor corolla like a race car simply because she could. She was also the WORST at leaving lights on, she would turn every light on in the apartment and then just leave, I would come home, swearing I turned them all off, but they were on. I eventually broke down and put in a full replacement of those CF lights which helped a good bit on the bills for that habit.
I think it has something to do with how women have more emotions then guys do, boiling through there head almost constantly. I know my ex was a very emotional driver and a very emotional spender. Women sort of have to learn from day one to control those things otherwise they can be very expensive or even destructive if the angry driving causes an accident.
Needless to say, I can agree with you Johny, no doubt. However, I've recently been hanging out with this girl (that omg I want to date so bad) who is so a-typical female. She is almost borderline OCD about saving fuel, turning off lights, using very little gas and water in the apartment. And best of all, I'M MOVING IN WITH HER THIS FALL!!! I can't wait to see how low our electric bill and gas bill will be between the two of us, hehe.

I wish you had put an option for "Yes, women are gas hogs...and get a damn haircut" lol.
In all seriousness, hell yes. Your wife sounds just like mine, I'm constantly turning every light in the house off. She ALWAYS leaves the laundry room light on.. I complain "I was doing laundry" My response, you were putting clothes in the washer an hour ago, now the washer is doing the work, it doesn't have eyes so it can't see the light.
We have two bathrooms, one for the kids and one for us thats in our bedroom. She uses ours and proceeds to leave the bathroom light and bedroom light on...sometimes I don't catch it until two hours later
There is another thread that touches on her driving habits....
