Ha! Turns out it's an automatic, so I didn't drive it.
I'd rather drive a forbidden fruit Euro / JDM 1.0L Mirage than an automatic R8.

when you only use the airconditioning going downhill, on a hot day, as an engine-brake if you know you have to slow down for a curve.

With the VW Beetle, you can flip the vent windows almost instantaneously. 4 or 5x the area of the mirror[s].
